The Lightweight MEILENSTEIN ART brings together advanced aerodynamics, low weight and precise handling in a completely redesigned carbon wheelset. Handcrafted in Germany, it combines a 45mm rim profile with innovative internal reinforcement and continuous carbon spokes to deliver the stiffness and responsiveness demanded by performance road cyclists.

With a wider rim optimised for 28mm tyres, a refined smooth carbon finish and a choice of Standard or Schwarz ED versions, the MEILENSTEIN ART represents Lightweight’s most advanced wheelset yet.

Alpha Rib Technology — Strength from Within

At the heart of the MEILENSTEIN ART is Alpha Rib Technology (ART), a patented network of structural carbon ribs inside the rim cavity.

This internal reinforcement increases lateral stiffness, supporting accurate handling and efficient power transfer while allowing a wider, more aerodynamic rim profile with reduced weight.

The carbon spokes bond directly into the internal rib structure, preserving the natural load path of the fibres. This creates a direct connection between rim and spoke, improving structural efficiency and reducing material fatigue.

Rim-to-Rim Carbon Spokes

Lightweight’s proprietary Rim-to-Rim (R2R) design uses continuous carbon spokes running from one side of the rim to the other through the hub, without bends, breaks or mechanical connectors.

Working alongside the ART rim structure, this design delivers a stiff, responsive wheel system that translates rider input into immediate acceleration and precise control.

Penta-Fly Hub

The Penta-Fly hub features oversized flanges to increase lateral and torsional stiffness, supporting stability under hard acceleration and braking.

Its compact body reduces aerodynamic drag, while the exposed spoke interface showcases the wheelset’s distinctive construction. DT Swiss EXP 180 internals complete the hub system.

Lightweight Custom Composite

Lightweight Custom Composite (LCC) is a proprietary carbon construction developed to balance low weight, stiffness and durability.

Each layer is engineered for its role within the wheel, creating a composite structure that supports efficient power transfer and a responsive ride feel.

Precision Manufacturing with Reusable Core Technology

Reusable Core Technology (RCT) makes the MEILENSTEIN ART’s complex internal rim structure possible.

A specially designed core is wrapped in carbon fibres and infused with resin to form the rim and its integrated ribs. After curing, the core is extracted, leaving a hollow, internally reinforced structure. The core material is then recycled and reused in future production, reducing manufacturing waste.

Handcrafted in Germany

Developed and produced in Friedrichshafen, each MEILENSTEIN ART wheelset combines decades of composite engineering expertise with meticulous craftsmanship.

Key manufacturing processes are completed by hand, ensuring close attention to detail and consistent quality throughout production.
